Born at Pt Adelaide, CoE. Enlisted 27 October 1915 age 23, railway clerk. Nok father, Thomas Acton of Albion St, Cottesloe. Embarked at Fremantle 29 January 1916 per A54 Runic. (elsewhere December 1916 per A16 Warilda) December 1916 and returned to Australia August 1917. Reasons for the return are not clear. Service medals: BWM and VM.
