Born at Portrush, Ireland, RC. Enlisted 24 July 1915 age 26, labourer. Nok wife, Evelyn Mooney Black, Diver St, Claremont, WA. Another address was St John’s St, North Fremantle. Embarked at Fremantle 18 January 1916 per A7 Medic. Wounded in action in France 3 October 1917, again on 19 May 1918, a third time on the 10 June 1918 and a fourth and final time on 9 August 1918. RTA 13 December 1918 per A63 Karoola and discharged 2 January 1920. Service medals: 1914-1915 Star, BWM, and VM. Cottesloe and district Honour Rolls.
