Born at Kalgoorlie, Harry enlisted 16 April 1917 age 18, invoice clerk. His parents were Edwin Harry Bowra and Rebecca Maud Bowra of Eric St, Cottesloe. Embarked at Fremantle per A30 Borda 29 June 1917. Served in France March 1917 and RTA per RMS Ormonde June 1919. Residing at Eric St, Cottesloe in 1920. Service medals: VM and BWM.
