Buckingham, Thomas

* 244 Trooper 10th Light Horse Regiment.

Born at Sydney. Enlisted 23 October 1914 age 18, station hand. Nok Mrs Buckingham, first at Fairlight St, Cottesloe followed by Keane St and then Hope St, Cottesloe Beach. Embarked at Fremantle 8 February 1915 per A47 Mashobra. At Gallipoli on 7 August 1915 he suffered a wound to the thigh and died of wounds on 10 August while on board the hospital ship Delta. Thomas was buried at sea between Mudros and Alexandria. Memorialised Lone Pine Memorial Panel 10. His effects sent to his mother were: 1 brown paper parcel containing watch, wallet, box of letters and cards. Service medals: 1914-15 Star, BWM, and VM.
