Born Plymouth England, CoE. Callicott served in the Burmese War in 1888 and served as a Corporal with the 1st Western Australian Mounted Infantry Contingent to the Boer War in South Africa with Frederick W Bell (cf). Enlisted 28 December 1916 age 44, carriage examiner and fitter. Nok (parents dead) sister, Lucy Alice Ridyard, Wellington St, Cottesloe Beach. Embarked at Fremantle 29 January 1917 per A28 Miltiades for Devonport. Served in France in 1917 as an assistant blacksmith. RTA 9 December 1918 per A8 Argyllshire and discharged 11 May 1919. Service medals: BWM and VM.
