Wounded at Gallipoli on 10 July 1915 and invalided to Australia in November 1915 per A54 Runic. Re-enlisted on 16 May 1916, service number 1000 Armourer Staff Sgt 44th Bn. Nok wife, Cecile Augustine Chapman of 29 Barnett St, Fremantle (later changed to c/- Mrs Foster, Battle St, Cottesloe Beach. Embarked at Fremantle 6 June 1916 per A29 Suevic. Served in France 1916. Service medals:1914-1915 Star, BWM and VM.
