Born at Albert Park, Melbourne and enlisted on 19 October 1914 age 23 having previous service with the Light Horse Unit. Nok brother, Joshua Chivers, then at Wongan Hills. Embarked at Fremantle 8 February 1915 per A47 Mashobra. At Gallipoli in August 1915. For much of the next year he was hospitalised with influenza and dysentery and RTA in June 1916 for discharge in October 1916. He later married Violet Evelyn Elizabeth of Nilang, Jarrad St, Cottesloe and died on 28 June 1951. Service medals: 1914-15 Star, BWM and VM.
