Born at Emley Yorkshire, England, Methodist. Enlisted 11 February 1916 age 29, battery man. Nok wife, Lillian Cooper of Broome St, Cottesloe. Embarked at Fremantle 17 April 1916 per A60 Aeneas. Served in Belgium and France 1916-17. Twice wounded in France 3-6 November 1916 and 27 October 1917. RTA June 1919 and discharged 7 September 1919. Service medals: BWM and VM.
