Born on 29 July 1894 at Ballarat, Victoria, CoE. Enlisted 3 May 1915 age 20, moulder. Nok father, Alfred Cumming of Rosser St, Cottesloe. Embarked at Fremantle 5 June 1915 per A2 Geelong. Served at Gallipoli in 1915 and wounded in France on 7 June 1916 with gunshot wound to back, shoulder and knee. RTA February 1917 and discharged 8 September 1917. Service medals: 1914-1915 Star, BWM and VM.
