Born at St Johns Sheffield England, CoE. Enlisted 21 January 1915 age 44, labourer. Nok wife, Elizabeth Ann Dalton. Herbert Dalton previously served with the Lancashire Fusiliers. Embarked at Fremantle 24 November 1915 per A13 Katuna. Severely wounded in the eye and arm near Calais, France on 19 July 1916. RTA 8 April 1917 and discharged 3 August 1917. He was refused a pension. Service medals: 1914-1915 Star, BWM, and VM. Cottesloe and district Honour Rolls.
