Born at North Perth, CoE. Enlisted 10 July 1916 age 18, plumber’s apprentice. Nok mother, Mrs Caroline Dowling Forrest St, Cottesloe. Embarked at Fremantle 9 November 1916 per Argyllshire. In France on 31 October 1917 he suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his arm. RTA and discharged 28 April 1918. Service medals: BWM and VM.
