Born at Petersburg Sth Aust. Methodist. Rejected on first attempt to enlist due to bad teeth. Enlisted 12 July 1915 age 21, apprentice fitter. Nok mother, Alice Eleanor Eager, Fitzroy Prospect Sth. Aust. Embarked at Sydney 11 December 1915 per RMS Mooltan. In France, on 14 September 1917, he was wounded in the foot by an exploding shell. RTA April 1918 and discharged in July 1918. In later years he resided at 28 Florence St, Cottesloe. Service medals:1914-1915 Star, BWM and VM.
