Born at Cottesloe, CoE. Enlisted 24 September 1914 age 24, farm labourer. Nok sister, Bella Bailey, PO Victoria Park, WA. Embarked at Melbourne 22 December 1914 per A40 Ceramic. On April 28 1915 he was wounded in knee. Served with the Camel Corp at Gaza in April 1917 and RTA May 1917. Received a war pension of 30 shillings a fortnight. In 1967 he was residing at Yealering WA. Service medals:1914-15 Star, BMW and VM. Cottesloe and district Honour Rolls.
