Edwards, William Henry De Ronulph

MSM 4229 Cpl Mining Corps later 5th Pioneers.

Born at West Perth, WA, Presbyterian. Possibly Enlisted 18 October 1915 age 20, clerk. On his application to enlist he gave his address as Keane St, Cottesloe, Peppermint Grove and his Nok father, William Wallace Edwards, Pearling Inspector, of Sharks Bay, WA (note Sharks later changed to Shark). Embarked at Fremantle 1 June 1916 per A69 Warilda. Served in France 1916-17. Transferred from 6th to 3rd Tunneling Corps, then to 5th Pioneer Battalion. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal for services rendered in France and Flanders. RTA February 1919 and discharged 26 May 1919. Service medals: MSM, 1914-1915 Star, BWM and VM. Cottesloe and district Honour Rolls.
