Born at Pinjarra, CoE. Enlisted 19 August 1914 age 20, student civil engineer. Nok father, Sam R. J. Elliott C/- of Edmore, Cottesloe. Embarked at Fremantle on 2 November 1914 per A 11 Ascanius. Repatriated sick from Gallipoli to England and discharged from AIF on 22 October 1916 to take up commission in Royal Field Artillery. Service medals: 1914-1915 Star, BWM and VM.
