Born at East Fremantle, CoE. Enlisted 30 August 1916 age 18, farmer. Nok father, John Hopwood Gibson, Burracoppin, WA. Embarked Fremantle 9 November 1916 per A8 Argyllshire. Served in France and twice wounded; first on 4 October 1917 and second 1 September 1918. RTA 18 July 1919 per Takada and discharged 6 October 1919. William Gibson’s address on 14 January 1925 was c/o Mrs Murphy, Kathleen St, Cottesloe Beach. Service medals: BWM and VM.
