Born at Fremantle, WA, RC. Enlisted 17 September 1915 age 25, wooden sleeper hewer. Nok father, George Freeman Griffiths, 19 Eighth Ave, Maylands. Embarked at Fremantle 17 January 1916 per A30 Borda. Served in France. Twice wounded in action the first 22/25 July 1916 and the second occasion on 2 November 1917. RTA on 1 June 1919 per Somali. Service medals: BWM and VM. Cottesloe and district Honour Rolls.
