Born at Blackburn England, CoE. Enlisted 28 January 1916 age 18, plumber. Nok father, Mr Thomas Heaps of Lynthorpe, Seaview Tce, Cottesloe. Embarked at Fremantle 31 March 1916 per Shropshire. Served in France 1916-18. RTA September 1919 per A37 Barambah and discharged 11 January 1920. Service medals: BWM and VM. Heaps’ funeral notice was in the Daily News, 6 August 1941.
