Born Daylesford, Victoria, CoE.  Enlisted 12 July 1915 age 20, farmer. Nok father, William Inglis, Athelstan St, Cottesloe Beach and later the address of James’ wife, Mary Hansen Inglis (nee Bell) at 9 Wentworth St, Cottesloe. Embarked at Adelaide on 24 November 1915 per A2 Geelong. Served in France. Wounded in action 19 July 1916 at the Battle of Fromelles in France.  RTA 12 November 1916 per A18 Wiltshire. Discharged 12 March 1917.  Died 24 August 1987 at Kellerberrin hospital. Service medals: 1914-1915 Star, BWM and VM.
