Born Perth, CoE. Enlisted 2 February 1916 age 30, station hand. Nok wife, Eva James c/- WA Bank, Fremantle. Embarked at Fremantle 17 April 1916 per A60 Aeneas. Served in France 1916-17, England 1918. Wounded in France 25 August 1917. RTA February 1918 for discharge (neurasthenia) on 4 April 1918. Australian Electoral Rolls show him in district of Dampier 1916, Kalgoorlie 1925-1937. In 1952 his widow wrote from Walter St, Claremont. Service medals: BWM and VM. Cottesloe and district Honour Rolls.
