Born at Albury NSW, Church of England. Enlisted 24 October 1916 age 35, a plant inspector located at Mundaring WA. Next of kin, his wife May Quin of St Leonards St. Mosman Park. Trained at Black Boy Hill, just east of Perth. Embarked at Fremantle 23 December 1916 per HMAT A 35 Berrima. Wounded in action in France 7 October 1917 and again on 11 March 1918. Returned to Australia in January 1919 and discharged on 6 May 1919.
