Born at Strathaven Scotland, Presbyterian. Enlisted 24 July 1916 age 31. Occupation – on one page he is an engineer at Midland workshops and in another a produce salesman. Nok wife, Freda Louise Caroline Lyon of Hilbre, St Leonards St, Cottesloe Beach and later at John St, Cottesloe. Embarked at Fremantle 29 June 1916 per A30 Borda. He served in France 1917-18 and died of influenza 29 August 1918. Buried by Chaplain Rev. J.W. Rose at Souvenir Cemetery, Longuenesse, France. Service medals: BWM and VM.
