Maskiell, Alexander Charles

** MID 4316 Lt. 28th Bn.

Born at Melbourne Victoria, CoE. Attended Cottesloe School. Enlisted 21 February 1916 age 20, civil servant. Nok father, James Maskiell of John St, Cottesloe. Alexander had service with the Royal Australian Navy at Fremantle but chose to enlist in the army. Embarked at Fremantle 31 March 1916 per A9 Shropshire.  He was wounded in the thigh in France on 4-6 August 1916. Wounded a second time 17 June 1917 and wounded a third time on 11 August 1918. RTA per A64 Demosthenes in January 1919 for discharge 18 May 1919. In July 1964 Alexander was residing at 28 Griver St, Cottesloe when he wrote for confirmation of his Navy service prior to his enlistment in the AIF. Service medals: BWM and VM.
