Nock, Bertram Thomas

* 3908 51st and 16th Bn.

Born at Albany WA, CoE.  Enlisted 6 October 1915 age 22, farmer. Nok his father, Arthur William Nock living at Yorkrakine, via Tammin WA. Embarked Fremantle 12 February 1916 per A28 Miltiades. Died of wounds in France 11 August 1916 and was buried at Puchevillers Military Cemetery 7.5 miles SSE of Doullens. The information sent to his father was confusing. Bertram was reported missing and his first knowledge of his son’s death was in a newspaper report.  Personal effects sent to his family: identity disc, wallet, photos, letters, purse, 4 coins, badge, diary, and ring. Service medals: 1914-1915 Star. Cottesloe Primary School Honour Roll.
