Palmer, Christopher Ryder

Born at Newcastle, England. Presbyterian. Enlisted 26 April 1916, age 34, farmer. Nok wife, Ellen Louisa Palmer, The Willows, Harvey, WA. (Wife remarried 1921 to be Mrs E.L Butt, Woodlands, Korrelocking, WA). Christopher had three sons, Noel William John Palmer, Keith Ryder Palmer and Roy Pollard Palmer and two daughters, Isla Alice Margaret and Viola Ellen. Embarked at Fremantle 7 August 1916 per A28 Miltiades. Served in France. Was reported missing in action 4 June 1917 and a Court of Enquiry determined that he was killed in action at Messines, Belgium. Personal effects: scarf, balaclava, 2 handkerchiefs, collar, strop, 2 pipes, tobacco box. Service medals: BWM and VM. Cottesloe and district Honour Rolls.
