Born at Guildford WA, Methodist. Enlisted 6 January 1916 age 22, blacksmith. Nok his father, John Pearse, Brookman St, Perth and later, that of his widowed mother Jessie Pearse, at Congdon St, Cottesloe. Embarked at Fremantle 6 June 1916 per A29 Suevic. Served in England and France where he was gassed. RTA May 1919 per Kildonian Castle. Service medals: BWM and VM.
