Pethybridge, Joseph Stanley

Born at Parks Plains, Victoria. Methodist. Enlisted 9 June 1916, age 27, farmer. Nok father, William Pethybridge, Narrogin, WA. Embarked at Fremantle 10 October 1916 per A23 Suffolk. He was thrice wounded while in France; 1 April 1917, 2-7 June 1917 and 3-5 July 1917 and killed in action in France   25 April 1918. It was impossible to find his burial place as all the temporary grave markers on this site were destroyed by shell fire.   Memorial site: Villers-Bretonneux, France. Service medals: BWM and VM. Only five persons of this name enlisted and only one enlisted in Western Australia. Cottesloe and district Honour Rolls.
