Pilgrim, Harry

3104 Pte 11th Bn. then 5th District Guard.

Born 31 August 1874 at Collingwood, Victoria, CoE.   Enlisted 15 June 1915 age 39, contractor.  Nok wife, Ellen Pilgrim of Gregory St, Geraldton and later of 294 Bulwer St, North Perth.  Embarked at Fremantle 13 September 1915 per A32 Themistocles.  Served in Egypt 1916. RTA invalided with severe nephritis in April 1916 per A63 Karoola and was discharged on 25 July 1916.  He re-enlisted at the Claremont Military Camp on 1 September 1917 age 43, giving his address as 20 Gloster St, West Subiaco. He was discharged on 13 March 1918 as his services were no longer required. Service medals: 1914-1915 Star, BWM and VM. The only soldier of this name and initials in the Australian National Archives AIF lists. He died on 28 August 1943. The Post Office Directory places a Harry Pilgrim at 20 Gloster Rd Subiaco 1920-35, and in 1935 a Harry Pilgrim, building contractor was at 5 Stanmore St Subiaco. Cottesloe and district Honour Rolls.
