Born at Longsight Lancashire England, CoE. Enlisted 28 September 1914 age 32, labourer and former police officer. Nok wife, Mary Ann Roe, 106 Queen Victoria St, Fremantle. Embarked at Fremantle 30 December 1914 per A31 Ajana. While on active service at Gallipoli he was wounded in the right thigh and suffered from shock. RTA as an invalid 7 November 1915 per A54 Runic and discharged 1 August 1916. Service medals: 1914-1915 Star, BWM and VM. Cottesloe and district Honour Rolls.
