Born at Flinders St, Melbourne Victoria, Methodist. Enlisted 18 November 1916 age 21, clerk cadet railways. Nok mother, Alice Maud Mary Rudeforth, Thelina, Glyde St, Cottesloe Beach. Taken on strength at Fremantle when he boarded the hospital ship A61 Kanowna on 17 November 1916. Most of his service appeared to have been aboard the Kanowna travelling between Europe and Australia. RTA and discharged 31 March 1919. Service medals, BWM and VM.
