Born at Broken Hill, NSW, RC. Enlisted 16 March 1915 age 23, plumber. Nok father, Alexander Salter, Walker St, Sth Fremantle. Embarked at Fremantle 29 June 1915 per A11 Ascanius. Served in Gallipoli and then in France where he was killed in action 4-6 August 1916. Memorial at Villers Bretonneux. His personal effects were: cards, Gospel, tie clip and 2 brushes. Service medals: 1914-1915 Star, BWM and VM. Cottesloe and district Honour Rolls.
