Born at Toowoomba, Qld. Enlisted 2 November 1916 age 43, hotel keeper. Nok wife, Mary Ann Strapp of Coolgardie. He is the father of John Robert Strapp 2404. Embarked at Fremantle 29 January 1917 per A28 Miltiades. Served in England in 1917. RTA October 1917 per SS Port Lyttleton physically and mentally unfit for further military service. Service medal BWM only. Prior to enlistment he served 26 years in the police service. His war pension slip dated 1918, has him residing at Coolgardie A pension was also awarded to his wife Mary Ann and daughters Catherine and Esther and sons Francis James and Edward Anzac. Cottesloe and district Honour Rolls.
