Born Dawley Shrewsbury England CofE. Enlisted 12 July 1915 age 32, engineer. Nok at the time his father in England and later his wife Mary Edwina Thomason. Embarked from Adelaide 18 November 1915 per A2 Geelong. Serving in France 20 July 1916 when wounded and taken a prisoner of the Germans. In 1917 at Stamm Lager, Limberg, Germany and in 1918, evacuated to England via Switzerland. In England he married Mary Edwina Mole 25 year-old spinster daughter of a school teacher on 2 December 1918. RTA 1919. Service medals: 1914-1815 Star, BWM and VM.
