Born at Cossack Western Australia, Methodist. Enlisted 22 May 1916 age 19, bank clerk. Nok father, Andrew Stonehouse Thompson deceased, mother, Annie Thompson of Kathleen St, Cottesloe. Embarked 30 October 1916 per A16 Melbourne. He was in France July 1917 and killed in action in Belgium on 12 October 1917. Buried Ypres Town Cemetery and extension, Ypres Menin Gate near the junction of Zonneboke and Menin Road, Belgium.  His effects were I broken mirror, soap tin, holdall, safety razor in a case, 2 combs, 2 toothbrushes, a money belt, hairbrush and a leather toilet case, Service medals: BWM and VM.
