Born at Rockingham Qld. CoE.  Enlisted 21 August 1914 age 19, assistant plumber. Nok Andrew Villiers, Port Moresby. Embarked at Brisbane 24 September 1914 per A5 Omrah. Wounded in an elbow at Gallipoli and also suffered from dysentery and malaria.  He was wounded twice in France, 22 August 1916 and in the stomach 7 May 1917. RTA in September 1917 and discharged in December 1917. Later residing at 70 Eric St, North Cottesloe.
