Born at Fremantle WA, CoE. Enlisted 11 January 1915 age 20, farmer. Nok mother, Mary Egerton Warburton, at Greenmount WA. Embarked at Fremantle 19 April 1915 per A8 Argyllshire. Served at Gallipoli. Suffered from illness for several months until returned to Australia in March 1916 for a medical discharge. Phillip and his brother Peter (903) enlisted together in the 10th Light Horse. Peter was killed on 15 August 1915. Service medals: 1914-1915 Star, BWM and VM. Cottesloe and district Honour Rolls.
