Waterhouse, Frederick Wicknea

** 1276 Pte 10th Light Horse Regiment then 112th Howitzer Battery.

Born at Coolgardie, WA, CoE.  Enlisted 21 June 1915 age 19, farmer. Nok father, Ernest Waterhouse of Irvine St, Peppermint Grove. Embarked at     Fremantle 1 October 1915 per A20 Hororata. Served in France in 1916 where he was gassed and buried in his dugout by a shell blast at Fleurbaix 15 October 1916. RTA 18 October 1917 and  discharged on 8 March 1918. Service medals: 1914-1915 Star, BWM and VM.  Fred also took up a War Service farm at Goomalling but, in common with many farmers during the Great Depression in 1932 he gave up the farm to live at Rockingham. He died 25 October 1972. Ocean Beach (29th) Troop Boy Scouts Honour Roll.
