Born at Dumfries, Scotland, Presbyterian. Enlisted 22 June 1916 age 25, farmhand. He gave his address as 89 Aberdeen St, Perth and Nok mother, Isabella Wylie of Dumfries, Scotland, Nok later changed to wife, Margaret Wylie c/- Mrs Richards, 59 Malcolm St, Fremantle. Embarked at Fremantle 23 December 1916 per A35 Berrima. Served in England 1917, France 1917-1919. RTA June 1919 per SS Ormonde. Service medals: BWM and VM. Cottesloe and district Honour Rolls. In 1919 his address was 42 Emmett St, Crows Nest and in 1944 at 25 Vittoria St, Bathurst NSW.
