Born at Busselton, Cof E. Enlisted 18 January 1915, age 22, station hand. Nok mother, Eloise Yelverton of Napier St, Cottesloe. Embarked at Fremantle 26 April 1915 per A20 Horora. Served at Gallipoli in 1915 and in France when, in August 1916, he suffered severe gunshot wounds to arms and legs. Evacuated to St Mary’s RN Hospital at Southend on Sea England and died of wounds 21 October 1916. Buried Southend-on-Sea (Sutton Road) Cemetery, UK. Service medals: 1914-15 Star, BWM and VM.
