Born Ireland CoE. Enlisted 26 March 1917 age 29, grocer’s assistant. Nok sister Mrs Elsie Best, Kurrawang via Kalgoorlie. At the time of enlistment Allen was at Mason St, Cottesloe Beach. Embarked at Fremantle 29 June 1916 per A30 Borda. Served in France 1917-1918 and RTA per Takada August 1919. Discharged 28 September 1919. Service medals: BWM and VM.
