Born at Northcote Victoria, Methodist. Enlisted 22 January, 1917 age 18, baker. Nok father, Thomas W. Alp of Cosmos, Railway St, Cottesloe and his step mother Florence Alp; his birth mother was dead. Sailed from Fremantle 29 June1917 per A30 Borda. Served in France and was gassed 7 May 1918 and wounded in August 1918. RTA Port Sydney arriving 4 November 1919 and discharged 12 December 1919. In 1923 he was at the opal town of Coober Pedy and was likely dead by June 1972. Service medals: BWM and VM. His brother, P. M. Alp, resided at 405 Guildford Rd, Bayswater.
