Born Bendigo Victoria, Methodist. Enlisted 17 August 1915 age 19, grocer’s assistant. Nok sister, Elsie May Alcock of Peitu Fremantle Rd, Cottesloe. Embarked at Fremantle 2 November 1915 and served in the Middle East and France where he was killed in action between14-16 August 1916. Buried about a kilometre North of Poziers and 8 kilometres NE of Albert. A later entry suggests that the body was transferred to Courcelette British Cemetery in France, 9 kilometres NE of Albert. His personal effects were a wallet, two coins, photos, postcard, pencil and letters. Service medals: 1914-15 Star, BWM, and VM.
