Born at Launceston Tasmania, CoE. He was a former pupil at Cottesloe School. Enlisted 15 January 1915 age 35, storekeeper. Nok mother, Mary Fox Angelo of Ruthglen, Cottesloe and later of 62 Ord St, Fremantle. Landed at Gallipoli in April 1915 and later wounded in France on 7 September 1916. He was missing on 11 January 1917 and later reported captured by the Germans and a prisoner of war (POW) at Limburg Camp. Repatriated to England 9 December 1918 and returned to Australia in January 1919. Service medals: 1914-15 Star, BMW and VM.
