Born at Hull England, CoE. Enlisted 14 March 1916 age 36, labourer. Nok his wife, Ida Ashworth of Gill St, Cottesloe. He previously served four years with the Manchester Territorials and three years with the Manchester Regulars. Sailed from Fremantle 23 December 1916 per A35 Berrima. Ashworth was in France in June 1917 and wounded in the hip 5 April 1918. RTA in December 1918. Service medals: BMW and VM. Honour Roll Ancient Order of Druids Acorn Lodge 463 Cottesloe.
