Born at Roebourne WA, CoE. Enlisted 1 March 1917 age 25, saddler. Nok his wife, Amy Atkinson of Forrest St, Cottesloe. Prior to enlistment, Robert served five years in the Citizen Cadet Force. He embarked at Sydney per A55 Kyarra 3 September 1917 and was assigned to the Signal Depot at Alexandria, Egypt. Sailed from the Suez RTA 2 January 1919 per A 60 Aeneas. His address in 1919 was Forrest St, Cottesloe. Service medals: BWM and VM.
