Born at Cottesloe 16 June 1895, RC. Enlisted 25 January 1916 age 20, modeller. Nok parents, Robert and Agnes Atkinson, of Railway Parade, Cottesloe. Served a few weeks on Rottnest Island before embarking at Fremantle 31 March 1916 per A9 Shropshire for Egypt and then to England. He was in France in October 1916 when he was gassed and sent to England to recover. RTA October 1919 per Pakeha. Service medals: BMW and VM.
