Born Manchester England, CoE. Enlisted 8 February 1916 age 24, shipping clerk. Nok father, William Blythell, cab proprietor of Railway St, Cottesloe. Embarked at Melbourne 27 June 1916 per A37 Barambah. Served in France December 1916-1918. On 3 September 1919, Joseph Blythell and Isabella Webster 22, spinster of 30 Torrington Sq W.C1, were married at St George Hanover Register Office London, entry No 67. RTA December 1919 and discharged 5 May 1920. His address in later years was 9 Brighton St, Cottesloe. Service medals: BWM and VM. Note: DAC may also be Division Artillery Column.
