Born at Brownhills Staffordshire England, Methodist. Enlisted 22 July 1915 age 26, accountant. Nok father, Joseph Bond, 90 Newton Rd, Sparkhill Birmingham and later Millers Dale Greenham St, Cottesloe. Bond was initially rejected for service because of a low chest measure but was eventually accepted and saw service in the Middle East and in France. Embarked at Fremantle 1 October 1915 per A20 Hororata. He saw service in England and was promoted to Lieutenant in March 1918 and then court martialled and dismissed from His Majesty’s Service and denied his medals. He may have then joined the British Army or Royal Air Corp. Service medals: 1914-1915 Star, BWM and VM. In 1922 he was residing at Grantham St. Cottesloe.
