Born at Bendigo Victoria, CoE. Enlisted 3 October 1916 age 21, fireman. Nok at enlistment father, William Brooks, main camp Kurrawang via Kalgoorlie. Embarked at Fremantle 29 December 1916 per A34 Persic. Served in France with a history of illness. RTA September 1918. His address in 1919 was 67 Smith St, Cottesloe. Service medals: BWM and VM.
