Born at Yarraville, Victoria Congregational. Enlisted 15 May 1916, age 23, fitter and turner. Nok wife, Edith Eleanor Bryant of Kenny St (later at Wellington St) Cottesloe Beach. Embarked at Fremantle 23 December 1916 per A35 Berrima. Served in France 1917. RTA October 1918 per D24 for discharge (flat feet). James Bryant died 19 August 1955. Service medals: BWM and VM.
